1st Keyingham Guides was opened on 9th April 1969 and we are a still a very active and thriving unit, with 20 Guides, two Leaders (Dianne and Carol) and three Young Leaders. Although at the moment we don't have a waiting list, we can only have twelve Guides per leader so we are very nearly full - if you think you might like to join us, please contact Dianne soon so you can reserve one of the remaining places!

We do all sorts of things - at our weekly meetings we play games, do crafts and learn a lot of different things. Sometimes we work in Patrols doing things we have chosen and sometimes we work together as a unit.

We are all keen campers, and our annual Summer Camp is the highlight of our year. Some of the older girls (those over 13) have attended Selection Camps and for two years running we have had girls selected to go to International camps abroad! Some of them have also joined in the Senior Section ' Silly Chilly' camp - so called because it's held in early March! Brrrr!

We held a big unit camp in the summer of 2005 and nearly all of us went. This (above) is our unit's own Camper Badge - we have different colours for each camp attended, as well as doing the official Interest Badges. Most of us have now earned the "official" Camper Badge by now and we are hoping to get our Advanced Camper in the next year or two.

We have had several new girls join our unit this year, so our Patrols have been reorganised yet again ; as patrols we enjoy doing GFIs and Interest Badges. We also do a lot of things together as a whole unit - we especially like to EAT!
